THE STORY

Avid travelers Shaun & Tanny have built 3 years of amazing memories, including seeing the sunrise on top of a volcano in Bali and driving the Sea-to-Sky highway. For the two, being together looking at nature, or seeing the sereneness of the environment brings them the most bliss. Shaun knew that his proposal would need a spectacular view. 

THE PLAN

Shaun invited Tanny for a fancy lunch up on the Sea to Sky gondola. To get to the restaurant, he told her that they needed to take a short trek and pass a scenic lookout. Unbeknownst to her, the lookout was reserved for Shaun to pop the question. When they arrived, Tanny was greeted with photos from their best memories lining the railings that led them to a minimalist copper frame dressed in greenery. Most importantly, the backdrop boasted a million dollar view of the sweeping mountains in Squamish, BC for this Westcoast loving couple.

THE STORY

Kenny is Jessie’s first boyfriend, and he plans to keep it that way. Together, the couple have traveled around the world from Japan and LA to Paris. With their anniversary coming up, Kenny knew it was the perfect opportunity to finally make things official.

THE PLAN

On the day of their anniversary, Kenny told Jessie that he had booked a nice dinner with ocean-side views. Upon arriving to the restaurant, the table “wasn’t ready”. So, Kenny suggested that they walk around until the hostess called them. They strolled over to a viewpoint lookout, and to her surprise, something special was waiting for her.

Pink rose petals led to a sweet table full of desserts – Jessie’s absolute favourite type of food. Diamond ring cookies and ice cream cones filled with roses dressed the table, along with a beautifully written message in calligraphy. It read, “How sweet it is to be loved by you.” signed by “Ugly”. To Kenny, Jessie is the most beautiful girl in the world; often times, he would call himself “Ugly” as an inside joke. With playful balloons reading “MR.” and “MRS.” depicting their future, Kenny asked the question that would ensure his place as the only man Jessie has ever dated.

THE STORY

The first time Liang saw Qian’s picture on Facebook, he was blown away by her beauty. The two started off as friends, and even before she realized he liked her, all of her friends knew. Finally, in a car ride from Surrey to Vancouver, Qian realized that she had feelings for Liang. The two began dating ever since that fateful car ride.

THE PLAN

On a Sunday evening, Liang invited Qian to his friend’s art exhibition after-party. After convincing her with a fake flyer, the two headed into a hotel ballroom. Instead, a beautiful walk down memory lane was laid out before them in a Parisian style that Qian loves. Street lamp posts documenting the most important dates in their relationship were displayed, along with photos and Liang’s recollection of each memory.

The rows of greenery and cafe lights led the two on a nostalgic journey of their relationship, which led them to a bench with her favourite white flowers and lilies. With Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran’s “I Was Made for Loving You” playing softly in the background, Liang asked Qian to marry him.

THE STORY

Throughout both of their lives, Marshall and Alexa grew up in Miami close in proximity to each other but never met. With many mutual friends, they were separated by one degree. It wasn’t until a fateful evening at a local bar where Marshall officially met Alexa. At this point, they were following each other on Instagram, so he started with, “You’re so much more beautiful in person than on your Instagram.”. He realized he had botched his intro with a half-insulting half-complimenting statement by the look on her face. Luckily, they ended up having a great night and exchanged numbers.

THE PLAN

While visiting Vancouver, Marshall made dinner plans with Alexa to experience Vancouver’s underground supper club scene. The secret location took place in a residential building, presumably the chef’s apartment. At the door, one of our planners greeted the couple, pretending to be a hostess.

Soft 50’s & 60’s R&B welcomed the couple into the dimly lit space. Rows of candles and hanging picture frames of their favourite travels led them to a glowing backdrop of cafe lights. On a crate were 2 airplane tickets with flight routes from Miami, Oakland and Atlanta – places where they were present at the same time, but never crossed paths. The final destination read: “To our happily ever after”, signifying the next chapter in their lives that was about to begin.

THE STORY

When Krishna and Colleen were friends, they would meet up on a weekly basis to learn new ways of cooking together. After many explorations and trying new activities, Krishna wanted to make it official with a proposal that displayed all of their memories in a luxurious way.

THE PLAN

Krishna presented Colleen with an invitation to his work party. With a strict black tie dress code, the couple headed towards a restaurant. As Colleen entered the frosted doors to the private dining area, she was welcomed by a violinist and cello playing Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years”. In front of her was a pathway of rose petals and candles that led to an elegant white backdrop. Hanging from the ceiling were glowing cafe lights and photos from their favourite travel destinations. After revisiting each memory, Krishna got down on one knee to ask the most important question he’s ever asked in his life.

THE STORY

For the last 7 years, Imran and Sehar have treated each other with utmost respect. That meant the same for their wedding proposal! The pair planned a weekend where they would propose to each other. For Imran, he had a clear vision for an intimate, private dinner over looking the water at sunset. At the same time, have Sehar’s favourite songs playing, a trail of white roses, and a keepsake with “Will You Marry Me” written on it.

THE PLAN

On a beautiful Sunday, Imran led Sehar down a pathway lined with white rose petals. Among them were photos that detailed the timeline of their relationship. At the end of the walkway was a beautiful dinner waiting with the same dishes that they first ordered on their date. Most importantly, there was a table runner that read, “Will You Marry Me?”. With flickering pillar candles and Sehar’s favourite songs playing, Imran got down on one knee to complete the best proposal weekend ever.

THE STORY

Gregory and Melanie have been together for the last 10 years and have a beautiful daughter together. Melanie loves being by the water, walking, talking and being in the great outdoors. With that in mind, Greg knew that his ideal proposal would encompass a long sea-side walk to a private al fresco drinks with the sun setting.

THE PLAN

During a weekend in Vancouver, Gregory and Melanie stopped by Miku to grab some sushi. Afterwards, they planned to do one of Melanie’s favourite past times – a walk along the beach. The couple strolled for 30 minutes along Jericho Beach, until they hit the end of the walking path to a secluded area. There, a romantic lavender themed picnic was set up for them, with rose petals and candles scattered throughout. Their favourite drink, gin & soda, was iced and ready for them to enjoy. Delighted, Melanie sat down to enjoy the view, not knowing that Greg had got down on one knee beside her.

THE PLAN

On the weekend of Lauren’s birthday, Lee planned the two of them to fly into Vancouver to spend the weekend. He arranged a “private exhibition” of art and rock music history before dinner at a high-end restaurant. Instead of an exhibition, they were led through a set of curtains that revealed a grand set-up pulled out of the movie, Beauty & the Beast. Two spiral staircases lined with candles met at the bottom, just like the scene where Belle and Beast meet before their first dance.

A dramatic backdrop cascaded from the top staircase, with florals, drapery, and candelabras in front of it. Sitting on the table was an infinity rose – just like Lee’s infinite love for Lauren. To feed Lauren’s love for rock and roll, a live band played a rendition of “Tale as Old as Time”. Finally, Lee presented the ring Lauren was not expecting to receive anytime soon.

THE STORY

When Luisa and Cris met, Cris’ dog had recently passed away from a car accident. One day, they were strolling on the streets and noticed a small black dog wandering on its own. The same day, their neighbour (who was a vet) told them she has been looking for the little black dog’s owner for days. So, they adopted the dog together, named her Luna and began fostering other abandoned dogs since.

THE PLAN

Luisa and Cris came to Vancouver for a vacation all the way from Mexico. Before dinner, Cris suggested that they take a walk along the beach. They passed by an empty park with gorgeous willow trees. As they got closer, Luisa noticed one particular tree was adorned with hanging twinkle lights, with rose petals and lanterns creating a perfect circle for them. It wasn’t until she spotted a sign hanging from the branches that read, “Te Cielo” where she realized what was about to happen.

This special message was inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo that quoted, “I Sky You (Te Cielo), so my wings can extend so wide to match with my love for you.”. Hanging from the twinkle lights were also pictures of their beloved adopted dog, Luna. Moments after she said yes, her best friends appeared from a nearby tree to surprise her. It was definitely a walk to remember.

THE STORY

Earlier this year, Steve had plans to propose in Europe – but environmental factors forced him to postpone. This time, Steve was determined to create an unique marriage proposal that fit Betty’s style (“rustic glam”). The most important feature? She has to be surprised. After many new plans and new ways to trick Betty, we finally made the plan “Betty-proof!”

THE PLAN

Throughout their relationship, they have traveled to many places, with Steve “chasing” Betty every step of the way. So, we created a map with travel tags, marking their adventures. Instead of a marriage proposal video, Steve decided to do a Love Actually proposal, drawn by an Edmonton-based cartoonist. We worked with Steve to produce the perfect storyboard that re-lived their life milestones together. At the end of it, this roller-coaster was definitely worth it!
