When Humberto met Mariana selling shoes at her shoe shop, he approached her to buy a pair and to go on a date. Instead, she dismissed him and told him to send her an e-mail instead. Fortunately, Humberto was insistent and invited her to go for coffee, where they became inseparable for the last 4 years.
Humberto wanted to propose in Mariana in true Westcoast style; naturally, the backdrop at Nita Lake Lodge resonated with his request. Upon arriving at Nita Lake for “lunch”, Humberto met us in the washroom to hand over a pair of canvas slip-on shoes he had brought from Mexico to include his proposal – just like the ones she used to sell when they first met.
Afterwards, Humberto led Mariana out to the dock. Waiting for them was a sweet and simple set-up full of her favourite purple daisies and roses. In beautiful calligraphy read, “I will let you eat my cheeks forever”. This paid tribute to a game that they play called “Zombie Kisses”, where Mariana would bite Humberto on the cheek and declare that she is going to “eat his cheeks”. With the mountains peeping through the clouds and a serene lake behind them, Mariana said YES.
Karen and the team made everything easy and fast.``
“As a foreign customer from Mexico going to Vancouver on vacation, it was quite difficult to assign this important task to them; however, Karen and the team made everything easy and fast. They were very proactive as I haven’t visited Vancouver before, by giving recommendations, exploring places, perfect spots, views, according to my expectations. I’m sure they are quite very well recommended already in Canada. I will make sure to spread the word around my country and colleagues. Thank you girls.”
