When Nathaniel and Allyssa first met, they didn’t date right away. Instead, they lost contact with one another for years, until fate gave them another chance to rekindle for the second time. 4.5 years later, the two are inseparable thanks to relaxing trips filled with spas and beaches.
With an affinity towards their most memorable trip to Bali, we created a backyard oasis for Allyssa. At a private pool located in North Vancouver, we scattered rose petals and floating paper lanterns for a tropical feel. Floating white balloons carried photos documenting the couple’s years together, with a proud “MARRY ME?” monogram sign floating in the pool.
Since they both work at the same hospital, Nathaniel’s co-worker invited them to a “surprise going away” for another co-worker going on maternity leave. It would take place in the backyard; the instructions were to arrive at 8:00PM sharp for the surprise to take place at 8:30PM. Dress code: Semi-formal.
“I initially found out about Karen and Kim online through a feature in a local website. When I read the article, I knew that I wanted them to help me plan my proposal. The first time I met Karen and Kim I could sense that they really wanted to ensure that all their clients had a memorable proposal. Karen and Kim were able to dive deep into the details and provide me with various options despite me being vague at times.
They never let me settle on the end product and involved me in all aspects of the process.
We selected the venue together, I gave input on the setup, and was able to join in on the site visit. Whenever I had a question, Kim and Karen were always available and constantly reassured me that everything was under control. The proposal turned out amazing. My fiancée couldn’t stop sharing the photos of our engagement with her friends!” – Nathaniel R.
